According to data from the Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the number of cellular subscribers grew from 192.924 million at the end of July to 193.098 million by August 2024.
The regulatory data also indicated an increase in the number of 3G and 4G users in Pakistan, which went up from 136.312 million at the end of July 2024 to 137.920 million by August 2024.
The penetration of Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) rose from 56.15 percent by the end of July 2024 to 56.72 percent at the end of August 2024. Meanwhile, the cellular teledensity—reflecting the number of connections per hundred people—remained steady at 79 percent as of the end of August.
Jazz saw its total number of 3G users decline from 2.897 million at the end of July to 2.718 million by the end of August. However, its 4G user base expanded from 47.993 million at the end of July 2024 to 48.843 million by the end of August.
Zong's 3G subscribers dropped from 1.955 million at the end of July to 1.932 million in August, while its 4G users increased from 37.153 million at the end of July to 37.627 million by the end of August 2024.
Telenor's 3G subscribers fell from 1.551 million at the end of July to 1.519 million by August, but its 4G user count rose from 24.929 million at the end of July to 25.189 million by the end of August.
Ufone reported 3G users at 2.167 million by the end of August, down from 2.197 million at the end of July. Nevertheless, Ufone's 4G users increased from 15.975 million at the end of July to 16.243 million by the end of August.
